Avengers issue 1 cover art

Hello!
I am currently working on the new all ages Avengers comic being released in conjunction between IDW and Marvel Comics. Having the opportunity to work on these most iconic superheroes is a bit of a highlight for me, and I'm making the most of it.

Just thought I'd share the making of the cover art for the first issue here. You can see my initial concept followed by the ink version and then the final coloured image.

This comic is out now and can be purchased from all good comic stores around the world.

It has been a while since I last posted. I mostly use instagram (@sommariva) and twitter (@jonsommariva) to share my art these days, but I thought I would do an update here as well.

As a long time Star Wars fan, it has been a real pleasure to add this franchise to my list of achievements.
